For many parents, to have their children educated in the traditional way by dedicated teachers and in small groups is but a dream. For the parents who have chosen to send their children to St Gregory's Preparatory School in Llanasa near Holywell though, it is a reality.
Here in this award-winning village amid the rolling Flintshire countryside, St Gregory's was established in April 2002 by Geraldine Asbury and David Evans; two teachers with a lifetime's experience in discovering and developing the potential of their pupils and arming them with the skills that will bring them reward in later life.
Intake / Places :
Catering for both boys and girls aged between 4 - 11 years, the school has already succeeded in capturing the close, friendly 'village school' environment that was so conducive to the educational and personal development of adults of tomorrow when this type of school was the norm. |
Currently, with just 21 pupils and vacancies for only a handful more, this is a school where the teacher/pupil ratio enables the three teaching staff to provide very personal tuition, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each child, addressing the latter and developing the former so they are more than adequately equipped to move on to higher and further education, glittering careers and responsible adulthood. |
